Where Are You On The Autoimmune Spectrum?

The purpose of your understanding and taking steps to address whether or not you are suffering from any kind of autoimmune condition is to reduce the number of times your immune system has to engage immune responses of any kind.

This means, particularly in today’s world, considering the constant assault of toxins on and in our bodies, it is imperative for us to unburden our overburdened immune systems. This premise is scientifically supported by the growing epidemic of chronic disease at younger and younger ages, and the fact that the medical field is beginning to understand most chronic illnesses and diseases as having autoimmune components to them.

In other words, diseases previously thought to be genetic or of unknown origin, even diseases like diabetes, obesity, heart disease, food allergies, seasonal allergies, chronic fatigue, certain cancers, liver failure, kidney failure, etc. are now known to have their origins in autoimmune disorder.

So today, largely due to the sciences of Epigenetics, Stem Cell research and Holistic nutrition – And evidenced-based studies on the impact of Spiritual Power (based in going beyond the mind and beyond the senses with methods such as true Meditation and Chanting) on the epigenetic expression of our cells – we know more today than we ever have.

The question is, will you study and act on this information, exercising your most effective, holistic options?

Fasting and New Stem Cell Growth

What Are Stem Cells?

Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can become specialized cells. They can replicate rapidly. For example, a stem cell injected into your body could become cartilage, bone, collagen, or some other tissue.

There are two major classes of stem cells:

  • Embryonic stem cells
  • Adult stem cells

Let’s focus on adult stem cells. Adult stem cells exist throughout the body. They are found inside of different types of tissue. For example, adult stem cells have been found in the brain, bone marrow, blood, blood vessels, skeletal muscles, skin, and the liver.

Stem cells play a huge part in the body’s healing process. Stem cell therapies that introduce new stem cells to a particular body part, such as injecting your own stem cells into your shoulder to help grow new cartilage, shows tremendous promise.

Stem cell therapy has great potential because your stem cells can be guided into becoming specific cells that can be used to regenerate and repair diseased or damaged tissues in your body.

You can naturally increase the amount of stem cells in your body in these four ways:

  1. Exercising and Sweating While Doing So
  2. Intermittent Fasting
  3. Eating Nutrient-Dense Foods With Some Supplementation, As Necessary
  4. Getting Well and Staying Well By Addressing The Underlying Cause

Stem cells are naturally recurring cells in our bodies that quickly give rise to healthy cell replication to increase the proper balance in our ecology of wellness. These healthy cells automatically begin to crowd out the unhealthy cell communities, rendering them targets for proper apoptosis (cell death and removal as waste).

At birth and during the early part of our lives, in a healthy body where the constitution is strong, there are many active stem cells in our bones and organs. As the body grows old and health conditions decline due to lifestyle choices, the amount of these stem cells can decrease dramatically and begin to disappear with old age.

Due to the growing body of stem cell research and experimentation, we now know that there are steps we can take to increase the number of stem cells in the body, regardless of age. One of those steps is intermittent fasting (view other videos at this website for more information on intermittent fasting done properly).

The growing body of research now supports the fact that fasting for more than 24 hours at a time, and up to 72 hours, on water alone, causes the growth of new stem cells!

Exercise During Fasting

These studies also show that performing light exercise while fasting (unless you experience things like nausea or dizziness in the early hours of your fast – then you shouldn’t exercise while fasting), increases the number of new stem cells manufactured by the body.

Exercising in this way has been shown to also decrease the time the body takes during a fast to enter into full ketosis, one of the reasons for engaging intermittent fasting. This forces your body to burn excess fat and sugar (glucose) in order to reduce and prevent the unhealthy build up of intramyocellular lipids (fat in and around your cells) and the very dangerous visceral fat around your belly.

Support New Stem Cell Growth

In order to maximize the amount of new stem cells your body can create and support, you must be well and strong. This means that you have an immune system that is functioning properly.

In order for that to happen, you need to focus on our Ecology of Wellness to attain the goal of the 4 pillars of Total Well-Being. On the physical level this includes Meditation and restful sleep, since it is at these peak times that your body is repairing and rebuilding tissue and cells.

It is during these times that the body regenerates and recharges the mitochondria, the engines that drive optimal cell function. You need energy for all this to take place. If you don’t meditate regularly, if you’re not getting enough restful sleep, if you are sick and functioning constantly on low energy, this rebuilding cannot occur and new stem cells do not grow.

If your immune system is overburdened, new stem cells will not grow. If there is a breakdown in the function of the mitochondria in your cells, new stem cells will not grow. And, without new stem cell growth, your body cannot repair and rebuild and you can’t stay well.

So, if you don’t fix the cell by way of true lifestyle medicine, you won’t get well and stay well.
